Sheridan Construction tackled a UGA basketball facilities renovation, locker room and weight room, broadening the scope to include new elements such as carpeting, office painting, woodwork, and storefront doors without extending the timeline. Challenges arose in material acquisition, particularly the 13-week wait for lockers.

Notably, the project expanded to encompass renovations in the Stegman Coliseum, converting three rooms into a cutting-edge basketball training weight room. However, the weight room renovation faced unexpected hurdles, from discovering multiple layers of flooring requiring slab exposure to unanticipated asbestos and unstable block walls, setting the project back by two weeks. With a pressing deadline, the team persevered, working extended hours and weekends to recover lost time and coordinated the installation of high-tech workout equipment.

Ultimately, Sheridan Construction delivered outstanding facilities on schedule, even returning $8,000 to UGA from savings while overcoming numerous unforeseen obstacles, ensuring top-notch training spaces for the basketball team’s success.
