Sheridan Construction was chosen for the renovations to Thompson Stadium. Three buildings were demolished from the old Appling Middle School campus. Renovations included complete interior demolition of the existing gym corridor, locker and weight rooms. New construction consisted of site improvements to storm drains in the rear parking lot and repaving of the current front parking lots. A new concrete plaza with stairs and ramps for access to the football stadium, including a new brick ticket booth to match the existing booth on the campus. Interior build-out of demolished gym area included new men’s and women’s restrooms and a concession stand for use during sporting events.
