This project entailed a ground-up construction of a new office facility for Southwest Research Institute. The exterior design features a refined combination of brick, stacked stone, and fiber‑cement panels, giving the building a modern yet robust appearance.

Southwest Research Institute is a leading independent, nonprofit applied research and development organization that provides scientific and engineering solutions for government and industrial clients across areas including space science, energy systems, materials research, and autonomous technologies.

Inside, the building houses multiple conference rooms and offices, with unclassified and classified work areas purposefully separated. Recognizing Southwest Research Institute’s sensitive research and defense-related work, a shell was constructed for future classified space, equipped with state-of-the-art security measures. Coordination was intensive: access controls, secure zones, and specialized security systems were designed in close collaboration with Southwest Research Institute to meet the strict requirements of classified operations, far more complex than a typical office build.
