Sheridan Construction was hired to construct an ADA-accessible walkway connecting the upper and lower campuses at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. The Schall Woodland Walkway is 515 linear feet in length with an elevation change of 31 feet. It is 11 feet above the ground at its highest elevation. The walkway’s structural system includes 188 helical piers with 65 battered helical piers placed diagonally underneath for additional support. Moisture Shield was used for the decking with galvanized welded wire mesh as infill between the top and bottom rails. The completed design includes three ADA-accessible ramps and one set of stairs.
