The Godsey Science Center has four levels of classroom, laboratory, research, and offices for total of 143,000 square feet. This includes 8,200 square feet of unfinished space in the basement for a future animal vivarium, and a mechanical penthouse. The most challenging part of the construction was the coordination of the lab casework, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
All of these systems work together to support the purpose of the building – a laboratory and research facility for Mercer University to have the ability to continue to be a leading higher education institution.
