Sheridan Construction was selected as construction manager to build this 55,000 sf state-of-the-art teaching and research facility.  The facility, which is unified around a spectacular entrance atrium, is designed to provide both introductory and advanced educational experiences through the use of specialized classrooms and laboratories for engineering and science students. Within its walls are new laboratories, specialized classrooms that are equipped with leading-edge instructional technology, a materials-testing system, study rooms, and a 150-seat auditorium. Labs in the facility include equipment and devices for students to study basic mechanical, electrical, electromagnet, solid state, optical and nonlinear phenomena; digital and analog solid state electronic devices; the design and fabrication of devices with embedded microprocessors; digital signal processing; and composite materials.
