AGC Georgia members participate in the prestigious AGC Build Georgia Awards competition to celebrate their firm and projects demonstrating construction excellence. Winning projects represent the best the construction industry has to offer by both general contractors and specialty contractors. In order to do so, their award submittals must demonstrate their ability to meet the following criteria:

  • Exceptional project safety performance
  • Overcoming the challenges of a difficult project
  • Innovation in construction techniques and materials
  • Excellence in project management and scheduling
  • Dedication to client service and customer care

Sheridan Construction was awarded 1st place honors for their restoration work on the Macon City Auditorium and will be presented their award at AGC’s annual conference on June 10th as well as being listed as “The Best of the Best in Construction” section to be published in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The Macon City Auditorium is a historic structure in Macon, Georgia, United States, that has hosted performances, meetings, and events for the community since 1925. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. The dome is considered the largest copper dome in the world according to the Guinness World Records.

Sheridan Construction provided extensive preconstruction services to maximize and tighten the budget, construction management services as it did major dome renovations, and added catwalk lighting structures, and bathrooms plus concession areas in the basement. This project had an aggressive 75-day window.
